The Cheesecake is Rich

So, guess whose employer had a huuuuge reduction in force (RIF) yesterday?

Guess whose employer RIF’d the owner’s son?

Guess whose employer still employs ME?

Yeah, I know. Weird, huh?

Anyway, it was ugly at work yesterday. All week, there have been closed doors all over the place and it’s made me want to jump off the roof and I am only slightly kidding. I took the afternoon off yesterday and it turns out it was the exactly right plan because last night I had an email from The Almighty D telling me to check my work email. There was a memo from Gwen (my boss) to the company listing out who all had been reduced. There were 6. Wow.

So, starting soon, I’ll be paid less (and I never got to get paid more when I started doing more after moving to Gwen’s group, sob) but, WTF. One of the checks will still have my name on it. Yeehaw.
