Hmm, obsess much?

Yeah, I do, thanks. So I joined the Grocery Game a month or two ago (I don’t know if it’s boning up my grocery savings or not. Being a rebel, I keep saying things like “But I don’t need 12 cans of tuna fish!”) and I love their message boards. There was a thread there recently about which companies will send you coupons if you send in a compliment or complaint.

And of course, you know me. An hour later I’d visited at least six different company websites to share my experiences with their products. I slammed a certain fast food restaurant for forgetting the sauce for my nuggets and an entire order of waffle fries (bastards). I wrote to Ore-Ida to tell them that Easy Fries were their best idea yet (and they are – in 4 minutes you have restaurant quality fries from your microwave. No salt needed, even) and to Heinz ketchup to let them know how much I love their upside down bottles of ketchup. Perfect every time. And I wrote to the company that manufacturers our fancy-dancy organic milk (not my idea, folks) to let them know that I buy their product every week and by chance, do you have coupons?

Fancy dancy organic milk people responded that yes, they have coupons and will send me some, although they usually save them for people with complaints. (But, but…they won’t buy your products ever again whereas I will keep buying, I promise!)

So, here’s the endgame to my lunacy:

2 customer care cards to the fast food joint (I have no clue what a customer care card is) as well as a nice canned email from the company and a personal email from the restaurant manager

Ketchup coupons

Ore-Ida coupons (ooh, I hope they’re the good ones!!)

Milk coupons (I would do anything to make that stuff cheaper!)

Bupkis from the Mac n’ Cheese people, other than to let me know the recipe is printed wrong. oh well.

Oh, and, supposedly somewhere around 20 coupons for free Coca-Cola. Yeah. Don’t be surprised if I just start giving them to all of you. (Turns out, I don’t drink Coke as a rule and the coupons aren’t good for Cherry Coke or Fresca, the two Coca Cola products I use if I had to). The promotion is over and I don’t know if the whole thing was real or just a dream, but I’ll report back later while I make 425 Coca Cola Cakes.
