The Cheesecake is Rich

All went well yesterday. We got to the hospital around 5:45 AM and got home about 4 PM. There is nothing as startlingly inefficient as a hospital. (At least at this hospital, waiting family members were not expected to answer the phone in the waiting room….WTF??….I could talk for hours about how insane and wrong THAT was).

Gene is doing pretty well, with the help of our friend Dr. Pain Pill and his Nurse, ME. The work begins now, of course. Comparing the amount of protein in the various protein drinks available (here’s a funny thing: Slim Fast makes both Low Carb and High Protein versions of their shakes. The Low Carb version has more protein than the high protein version), getting him to engage in a little exercise (the discharge instructions say he should be able to go for 2 25minute walks soon…yeah, sure, whatever).

Anyway, Dr. Pain Pill needs to make an appearance….
