A year ago I worked a half day to get the paychecks from our payroll provider ready to go out to the stores. I left at 1 and Gene and I took the dogs to the kennel and we finished packing. We were waiting for the car service to take us to the airport but [...]

Can the dogs come, too?

For dinner tonight I’m eating a frozen meal. It is “Lemongrass Coconut Chicken” by Kashi and it smells exactly like I remember Malaysia smelling. (Yes, I’m back on that topic). Oh, the smell makes me want to go back, so badly. It must just be my mood right now but… it makes me want to [...]

Asian Tour ’09?

So, Gene’s out of town. And he just told me that he may have to go back to Kuala Lumpur sometime. Why, oh, WHY can he not get sent to freaking London? I WANT to go to Europe, absolutely NO ONE wants to go to KL just for fun. (Well, OK, I do… but I [...]

(Actually, I bet that security would have really wrestled me to the ground if I was packing baked goods… [...]

Minibikes were everywhere…

Seriously, it was cuh-ray-zee how many people drove minibikes around KL. Dozens of them sometimes would crowd around intersections or weave in between cars and taxis, even on the highways. Impressively, they almost always wore helmets.

Self-portrait with huge pimple, 2008

Here I am on the skybridge between the Petronas Twin Towers. Petronas (an oil company) lets around 1500 people go on the skybridge 6 days a week (no Mondays). I had to be in line by 8:30-ish that morning to ensure I got a ticket, but I hear that if you want a ticket on [...]

One of the Petronas Twin Towers

(For the record, it was impossible to get a picture of both towers from ground level, so my pictures of both towers are actually taken from our hotel room window in KL)
