So I played hooky from work today. It was wonderful, like a little mini vacation that I didn’t have to actually go anywhere to enjoy. Gene worked a little, but once I sent an email to Gwen telling her how to print a paycheck, I was finished for the day. Gene and I went to the gym (oops, but the yoga class was full…oops!), to lunch, to Best Buy and to some freaky new ice cream place (technically, Gene went while I was getting the stare-down at Ulta, a store I liken to Sephora without the charm).<\/p>\n
And then I lay (laid?) <\/strike>relaxed on the swing on the back patio and read most of the March issue of Vanity Fair. (I no longer subscribe – eeh, so many words – but the cover was promising). And now it is after 7 pm and it’s still light outside and this fills me with joy.<\/p>\n
Gene and I had our usual conversation about me leaving the land o’ Stefania, Gwen and D (no fear, D, trust me. No fear). His rule is that I have to either make more money or be happier with my occupational choice. I really am glad to work with Gwen again, but I’ve worked there since October 2000 and I’m ready for a change.<\/p>\n
So now I’m trying to dream up an occupation where I’d make more money or feel happier about work. (And yes, I guess there is a third option but let’s not talk about Plan B, OK?).
