So, I’m on FaceBook and it is WAY scary. When did I turn into my grandma? I need to tell Gene, D and my other close friends to shoot me if I ever start calling the Internet “that line thing” (as in, “going online”). It’s one thing when my elderly grandma did that, a whole other thing if I were to start!<\/p>\n
Although it is scary, it is also interesting. Back in the day I was the “Leader” on AOL’s Teen Scene message boards (and a hostess in the Teen Chat chatroom). My favorite folder (what you young kids today would call a thread – kind of like a line thing) was the Goofballs. It was a clique of nerdy, goofy kids. The core group had maybe a half dozen posters, including me and Erin (::waves:: – this whole blog thing is her fault, ha ha) and another 3 girls and 2-ish boys. I say “ish” because my first boyfriend posted there occasionally but usually spent his time debating about evolution on the God folder.<\/p>\n
