I suspect I’ve used that blog post title before, which is why I’m glad the permalinks are now by post number and not title because otherwise hilarity would ensue.<\/p>\n

Anyway… so, Gene was sick starting Thursday night. He even missed work all day on Friday. I know! Escandalo! We had dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant in the hotel and by the time dessert rolled around, I was starting to feel crappy as well.<\/p>\n

And here is how the genders differ in our house:<\/p>\n

Gene’s version of sick: sneeze, wheeze, sneeze, four letter words, etc. Lasts three or more days and by the end I usually consider just beating him with a frozen bottle of Gatorade.<\/p>\n

Elaine’s version of sick: I think “Hmm, my throat is starting to feel sore” and then I proceed to pour gallons of hot tea down my throat and then sleep all night and wake up at 7 am, feeling a ton better. Tah-dah.*<\/p>\n

(I mean, REALLLLY…. another example is when we each had our wisdom teeth removed. Gene was bedridden for almost a week and I was eating creamy potato soup as soon as the novocain wore off and the next day I walked all around a bridal fair. I must have REALLY wanted to go to that bridal fair).<\/p>\n

*Well maybe not totally tah-dah since I don’t have to go to work this week and I can get a pot of hot tea whenever I want plus I have an empty quiet hotel room and Lunesta if I need to sleep more. Which I don’t. Because I feel awesome!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
