Yes, I’m such a geek that I’m visiting some of the websites. Part of me is convinced our wedding venue was ghetto. Not sure what I hope to improve by looking at sites in Texas, but it feeds my illness.

In other exciting news…

1) New cell phone. Same cell phone #. Despite all my reservations, the new Nextel phone is pretty sweet. Plus, it’s fairly durable so hopefully living in my car won’t mean its instant death. Here’s hoping. The first thing I did is program in all the numbers from my old cell phone. Including, and most important (not), the phone number to my beloved salon.

2) Did I mention that the above salon is so beloved that I’m probably going to hit the Hair Cuttery this week? My hair is getting pretty long and a $60 trim is not worth it at all. Gene says I should just get good cuts and not fool around with color (since keeping up with color is expensive). I would rather get color sometimes and slightly cheaper hair cuts to bridge the gap. We’ll see.

3) Gene was all sweet and romantic n’ stuff this weekend. That’s pretty nice. And he even said what counts for me as the magic words “And you could talk me into it…” ‘it’ being Plan B. At the outset I think it’ll still be a couple years. Al and Melissa’s baby is due in May 2005 and Macaulay/Bill is marrying his fiancee in April 2006. I don’t want to steal any thunder and besides, I don’t want to be pregnant during the hot southern summer, so that gets us to …. fall 2006 (to…err…start trying)? That’s not too bad. Gene would be :::Elaine does some mental math::: 37.

Oh, Christ. And I’d be 30. The good thing about being pregnant when I turn 30 is that maybe I won’t be such a stark raving biotch about the big three-oh. Because I will be (a biotch) — I will be so miserable and crabby, you’ll all wish I lived on another planet 😉

Oh, noooo….There is no way in hell I can talk Gene into this — he’d be 55 when the kid graduates high school, 59 when the kid graduates college…we’d never get to retire.

But on the bright side: I now can read Baby Bargains out in the open. It doesn’t even faze Gene, which is actually impressive. I’m hoping to show him how serious I am about this.

4) BTW, I saw a movie starring my brother Bill/Macaulay over the weekend. I think Macaulay played a gay club kid in the 1980s who murdered his drug dealer. And to make matters worse, it co-starred Seth Green as a fellow club kid. WTF? Is it possible Mac is a worse actor than the Home Alone days?

5) I suspect there will be some shakin’ at the office. We shall see.

Ugh, enough.

(I told you I’m the new evil)… Some girl at UW is looking for a wedding venue in Texas (as you know, several states away from me) and another girl came up with all these venue websites.
