I submit this to you: sometimes, Scooby will paw at me for no discernible reason. I think he wants to play. Sadly, Scooby isn’t on Sploofus, which is just about as playful as I get at 5:30 after a hard day of not shoving co-workers, so I ignore him (sometimes – just sometimes) and we play the “If I don’t look Scooby in the eye, he’ll go lay down on the floor and if I keep not looking at him, he’ll give me perhaps even 5 minutes of relative peace” game.<\/p>\n
There are other variants. Right now, we’re playing the “Open the blinds in my office so they’ll look outside and give me perhaps even 5 minutes of relative peace” game.<\/p>\n
So, grab your cell phone and call the ASS – Animal Social Services – on me. I picked Booper up a bit ago and told her that she should call them and sob out her story. “Wahh! They let me sleep in the big bed! They feed me beef ribs! They send me to play sometimes for days at a time!”. Ha ha.<\/p>\n
Yesterday:
\nTaking Gene’s buddy and girlfriend to meet the animal rescue lady didn’t happen. Now she’s not doing Saturday adoptions the rest of the month. So instead, we went out for sushi lunch (yummm!), bought tickets for a 4 PM showing of Mr & Mrs. Smith and trotted over to the wine bar to get a little tipsy. Now, Gene’s a big guy so I think his “little” tipsy was really just “little”. Me, on the other hand…I told Gene we need to do this more often so I can build up my tolerance for booze again. Getting “Whheeeeee!!!” tipsy on one frigging glass of wine is just embarassing. Sadly, my buzz was gone by the time the movie started, but the opening shots of the movie were a little shaky so that was unsettling. I really enjoyed the movie – the whole “Brangelina” thing (NOT MY NICKNAME – I read it) didn’t bother me at all. Frankly, I think they have really good chemistry and, if the rumors are true, I hope they have many months of happiness.<\/p>\n
