\nA: This has been a stressful week. Our payroll system was down (AGAIN) today for a good hour and a half when I was trying to input the information to cut paychecks. It was also down for awhile yesterday (when I only had to cut 2,000 paychecks, no, no stress there).<\/p>\n
Q: That sucks.
\nA: Yeah. And that wasn’t a question, you liar.<\/p>\n
Q: Sorry. Did anyone die?
\nA: No, and isn’t that sad that that’s a question?<\/p>\n
Q: So how are the dogs?
\nA: They are awesome. We had a doggy door installed yesterday and Booper loved it immediately (treats help!) but Scooby wasn’t going for it without a good shove on the ass. Now, he’s OK with it but still a little hesitant.<\/p>\n
Q: Is Gene out of town?
\nA: He’s leaving Monday \ud83d\ude41 But he’ll be back Friday. And then he leaves again the next Monday. Wahh.<\/p>\n
Q: Dogs going to Barkin Buddies?
\nA: Unless you have a better idea, yes.<\/p>\n
Q: Are you disappointed you didn’t get to go to Atlanta for the Henley\/Nicks concert last night?
\nA: HELL YES. I would rather have been in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas than at the office yesterday and today! Reports are, he didn’t lick her hand on stage but still even ATL traffic would have been better than my last few days.<\/p>\n
Q: Reading anything good?
\nA: Just finished re-reading my favorite bodice ripper
\nQ: HAHAHAHAH.
\nA: Oh, shut up. It’s only one, dammit. Woman cannot live on Atlas alone.<\/p>\n
Q: Do you know it’s really pretentious, how much you talk about that book?
\nA: Yes. Duh. Why do you think I do it?<\/p>\n
Q: Are you really reading that book?
\nA: Yep. I’m over 500 pages into it this go around. My goal this time is to actually read all of John Gault’s speech toward the end. I think it alone is 20 or 40 pages long. I may read it marathon-style, with someone handing me Gatorade in regular intervals.<\/p>\n
Q: Have you considered reading something else classic?
\nA: Are you crazy?
\nQ: Hey, I’m asking the questions here…
\nA: Yeah, yeah. Anyway, maybe I’ll read another classic sometime. I want to pick up one of those reading lists at the library and see how many I’ve read and maybe add a few to my lifetime total. But in the meantime, I have 2 trashy novels and 1 non-fiction book from the library. Mmm, trash. I already read the end of one of them so I don’t know if it’s worth actually reading the rest.<\/p>\n
Q: What are you doing this weekend?
\nA: I need to plant my coleuses if I haven’t killed them yet. I need to clean my office and set up my sweet new notebook computer. I need to do laundry and get the Geek Buffet up and running (yes, they’re “Game On” tomorrow). I need to watch Spanglish on DVD before it’s overdue.<\/p>\n
Q: What about when Gene’s gone?
\nA: I will probably spend it all in my car, driving the dogs around. Actually, I want to work on the novel. And I have a secret agent assignment to do while Gene is gone (shhh, Patty, don’t tell, but I may try coloring my own hair). So yeah, a trip to the ER is inevitable.<\/p>\n
