Yesterday was my company&#8217;s softball outing. Those of us from the support center were the umpires, which meant I mostly stayed out in the field and tried really hard to not do as bad a job as I did in June, when the outing was football. I think everyone had a good time with softball &#8212; at least, no one was injured (we had an ambulance just off the field when the general managers played football). It&#8217;s always so nice to meet the company&#8217;s managers, especially the group that we saw yesterday. I&#8217;ve dealt with a lot of them through training (I handle the HR portion of training). Today was the big meeting where everyone got to present (accounting, HR, IT, etc) but I never get to go to those and my HR director handles it. I don&#8217;t mind not getting to present (I do not like public speaking and my boss is great at it &#8212; very theatrical, very funny) but I wish they&#8217;d at least let me come and watch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had a longish post typed out this morning before work but Blogger must have eaten it because it&#8217;s not there!
