Anyway — today was a total drag, which makes the weekend even more of a wonderful thing. I spent basically the entire day wrestling with a quarterly report. I’ve been behind on these reports all year and I thought that formulating this one would be easy-peasy. Our IT guy wrote a report for me that I should just plug in pay dates and BAM! it’s done.<\/p>\n
Yeah, right! I’ve got the report that was submitted to the ESC and two reports (one based on the IT guy’s report and one based on…well, supposedly the same data) and I have THREE DIFFERENT FIGURES. VERY different figures — the closest I got them was something like $47,000 different. I told my boss and she told me we’ll look at it Monday. Do we really have to? This is the same report that, about a year into my time at the company, my boss handed to me and said “We haven’t done these in ages.” Back then, these reports took about an hour total. I know it’s mostly about the learning curve, but I am SICK OF LEARNING CURVES. Jesus tapdancing Christ, I have enough challenges without one of the tasks I was damn good at being made impossible so now I look even more incompetent.
