I have a TV in the bedroom again. Phew. The A\/V company arrived around 9 AM Wednesday and was at the house until 7 pm. I am deeply, deeply ashamed, but I love it. New TV, etc in the living room as well. It is decadent. I told Gene it is the A\/V equivalent to the Cheesecake Factory.<\/p>\n
(mmmmmm, cheesecake).<\/p>\n
And no, I won’t post pictures of it because, quite honestly, I am so embarrassed by it. Sometimes it all seems excessive and noveau riche (which is funny if you see me cutting coupons) and I hate that.<\/p>\n
I should be proud of Gene for being good at his job. I am proud. I want to shout from the rooftops when something good happens but I just can’t. It’s so hard to explain. We aren’t living above our means – we have one fucking car, people. The people I work with act like I’m an uppity bitch if I mention I went somewhere nice for dinner or if I shopped at the nicer grocery store (HELLO? There are 3 grocery store chains in the Cheesecake City, two of which are mediocre) or if, Gd forbid, my shoes weren’t from Wal-Mart. If I told them my living room TV looks like a lame episode of MTV Cribs they’d slash my tires. WTF? It’s not like I’ve made fun of them for their White Girl Jheri Curls or geeky office decorating habits or horrible, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE <\/em><\/strong>taste in music.<\/p>\n
