I can’t even think of a third wish, those first two just sound so nice right now. Someone gave the Boy back his laptop (he’d had it taken away after some school issue) and now he’s watching one “Bunnies acting out movies” short film from Alien Ant Farm (or something like that). So far, Star Wars (I think), The Big Chill, Spiderman I.

And also, a quick movie review: Skip the movie Brick, it sucked. It’s like a mashup of that movie where little kids played mobsters (remember? an early Jodie Foster movie?) and a murder mystery, such as, oh, let’s say Sunset Blvd (since I’ve seen that). Total crap. So pleased when it ended. Couldn’t even bring myself to put the laptop away while it was on.

Gene is going out of town a day or two before I go to Michigan for my Girls Weekend (WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) so when I get home it’ll be just me. And then, he will be home for a week and then it’s a boy weekend and after that he’s staying there because a few days after the boy weekend…

ooh wait, can’t talk about that. It’s a The Boy thing. I’ll just say that Gene is finally going to get some things straight between the two families. I hope that it makes things easier to live with for the next 5 years, until the boy turns 18. I know that the two families are intertwined forever (weddings, graduations, grandchildren, etc), but most of our financial impact ends at 18. (Or at least then hopefully we can pay it directly to Cheesecake State University, where at least it stands a shot of actually being spent ON the boy… har har).

And in Plan B news, we are 1 major step closer. Or at least we will be soon. I feel pretty strongly this puts us on the same timeline that we’ve been working with for awhile. Yippee.

And I even got a little writing done today while the boys were at Spiderman 3.

Nothing new with my future maybe part time job. I talked to Old Boss about it yesterday (honesty being the best policy). Basically, Old Boss wants my department back under her wing (which would be a good thing) but not New Boss or her Toady either. And we’re vaguely formulating ways of making that happen. I would love to work for Old Boss again (everything Old is New again?), but at the end of the day, I don’t want to work THERE anymore.

My #1 idea for payroll at my employer: Let’s outsource it again! We have a printer that only works when it wants to, a computer system that goes up and down willy-fucking-nilly and so many software issues that are ill-supported by our joke of an IT department that frankly, it would be such a credit to my employer to just give up on our shitty current software.

Viva ADP!

1) At least 1.5 inches of personal space (SCOOBY….) 2) Silence, sweet sweet silence.
