Yes, you heard that right. When I was lounging with the hounds last night, I saw that Scooby’s knuckles looked raw and red and I thought I saw some dried blood between his little fingers. Since they’re being boarded at the vet’s anyway, I thought I would have them look at it to make sure it was just me being crazy.
Nope. Allergies. Maybe red dye. Maybe grass. Maybe mold. (You n’ me both, Scooby…). I came home with two insane beagles, two types of pills, 1 bag of Eukanuba puppy food, 1 tin of Eukanuba wet food and minus $100. Scooby had been on the Beneful (as recommended by Dr. P at the vet’s) but Dr. D at the same friggin office doesn’t LIKE Beneful because of the dyes used. I had noticed in particular that Scooby would eat around the red pieces (like actually knowing which pieces were the red ones and spitting them out…) so that does it. I stopped at the pet shop (two crazy beagles in tow) and bought puppy Eukanuba Lamb & Rice dry food (we buy Puppy food because that way we can feed it to Betty as well — and it doesn’t hurt Scooby) and a tin of the wet food to give Scooby with pills. I wonder how the vet does it because Scooby was having NO part of the pills all by themselves.
Now it’s 7 pm, the dogs have eaten (well, Betty ate — Scooby looked at me like “WTF lady?” when I gave him a bowl of the Euk dry food…), the house is a disaster and I am frigging exhausted.
