So, on New Years Day this year our insurance changed from Cigna to something about a cross and a shield, I dunno. All I know is it came with a freaking deductible. Yechh. It’s not a terribly big one but stiiiiiillll (whine, whine). Between me and my back/ass/hip injury, I’ve been doing my best to freaking tame this thing. (Also: talk therapy has been helping me, too – pay the deductible, but maybe I should talk to her about this?).
As of two weeks ago, I am now within $18 of hitting my portion of our deductible. YES. Woohoo! Regular coverage, here I come! Now I’m stalking the insurance company website – when my visit to see Dr. Hottie’s coworker Dr. Ladydoctor is paid off, I am SO finished with the deductible.
Also, did I tell you I’ve already blown through 1/3 of our Flexible Spending Account already? Yes really. I told Gene this and he said, “Maybe we should have maxed that out”. Eeek. Just the thought of coordinating all of that makes my head spin.
BTW, I totally love the Flexible Spending Account. The account w/ Gene’s employer gives us a little debit card for prescriptions only. Everything else we have to submit via fax. I am serious about loving the FSA. Nothing gets me going quite like post-tax expenses paid for by pre-tax dollars.
(What, TMI?)
Yeah, we just met ours ($2,400!!!) and now I am scheduling ALL kinds of appointments… I even called Ben’s doctor to get his grape-flavored abx replaced with cherry flavored (so he’d actually take it) because it’s all free free freeeeee!!!!
