Well, let’s just say that it wasn’t as good as the first movie and the first movie wasn’t as good as the books. (I always like the books better). But any movie that has Colin Firth looking as yummy as cheesecake flavored ice cream just can’t be bad. It always has the funniest skiing scene in the history of film. But it also has a contrived ending that had me screaming (on the inside) “THAT DID NOT HAPPEN IN THE BOOK!”
Also today, I finished The Women (Gene helpfully pointed out to me that there were absolutely no men in the movie). Good stuff. When Gene leaves in a couple of hours I’m going to finish Angels in America (3 more hours of it to go) and hopefully still have some time and energy to keep reading Atlas Shrugged.
BTW, let’s segue over to my favorite topic of late: babies. Let’s focus for a spell on baby names, in particular names that I like:
Boys Names: Jacob, Gabriel (but would be nicknamed Gaby-Baby and that’s no good), David (no-go for reasons every one of my readers knows), Liston (Gene’s brother’s and father’s middle name)
Girls Names: Alexandra, Allison (fun trivia: my parents almost named me Alice), Ellen, Madeline (or even better spelled Madelaine — get it? Mad Elaine!), Margaret, Emma, Evangeline (better as a middle name — how funny would it be if I used purely Biblical names?), Catherine/Katherine, Sara (no H!).
