Blaaaahhh!

::Feel free to skip…this post is long and nutty::

Well, that does it. I had the vet’s office shampoo Scooby and Betty and clip their nails. Total $75. Seventy-five dollars for a service that I pay $20 (per dog) for at PetsMart. That’s the end of THAT.

As soon as I got home I called a “Canine Country Club” near my office. Doubtlessly, it’ll cost more than dayboarding at the vet’s (which is $10 a day). What’s making me nervous is that I didn’t cancel the reservations for the rest of the week at the vet’s and I need to find the immunization records for the dogs. What I really want to do is call in dead to work tomorrow and spend the day regrouping. Cleaning the house. Folding the laundry. Walking my own damn dogs instead of paying someone.

To make matters worse, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Anyway — sorry for the primal scream — to make matters worse, I just found the brochure for the place hosting the rescue group we adopted Betty from. Listen to this — for $14 a dog I can drop them off from 6 am until 8 am and I can pick them up until 6 pm. Plus — PLUS — the pricing for baths is $8. Eight dollars. And no cages. Play time all the freaking time.

I think if I had to be a WOTH (work outside the home mom) to a human child I would hang myself. I feel guilty and physically ill. I’m considering cancelling the reservations at the vet’s and at the Canine Country Club and just coming home at lunch. Or maybe not. I didn’t come home last Friday and the dogs did fine. Another consideration — this country club place (I am sorry to keep calling it that, but that’s the name of the place so bite me) is where my new supervisor takes her dog and I kinda name dropped. I am so loony at this moment that I’m concerned that it’ll make HER look bad if I just kinda fly by the seat of my pants and cancel.

So I think this is what I will do — and I have no idea why I think this is a good plan — I will cancel with the Canine Country Club and call the “Resort and Daycare” (I’m ready to plotz — I never went to camp but my beagles are going to go to a resort????) and try to get them in. I think this place is fancy and will require meeting the dogs.

Why is this place better than the Country Club place? Well, first, I can pick them up and drop them off with a better schedule than the other place.

Why is it better than the vet’s office? Well, let’s just get loonier. I don’t believe they ever walk my babies. I brought toys every day I boarded them last time and every day I came home with an increasingly bizarre array of toys that I didn’t come with (although it included a nice tennis ball, our Kongs are better). And did you read how last time THEY ALLOWED THE DOGS TO CHEW UP A PLASTIC BAG? Yes, Betty moves fast, but if they ever looked at the dogs they would have noticed it in the time it took either of them to do that kind of damage. Fucking idiots. Idiots coast to coast. ::mumblemumblemumble::

I’m going to go make a tinfoil hat.
