I remember my first Xmas at my employer when I read the vacation schedule. “Whaddya mean I only get Xmas Eve and Xmas Day off? I’m supposed to have off from mid December until January 2…”
So now we only have one day off from work (Friday), but I’m pretty excited. Work has been busy but with long lapses of time wasting such as Secret Santa and ever frequent discussions about “Do you want to pool our money and get (boss) a present?” I usually take these people up on their offer because it’s just easier that way. So far I’m in a pool to give presents to 4 entire bosses (CFO, Controller, HR Director and CEO/Chairman). That just leaves my own Payroll boss, who I shopped for all by myself, like a big girl.
Secret Santa has been fun. Yesterday’s clue talked all about penguin types so D thinks I gave it away. That’s cool. I actually figured out my Santa Monday, although she is very creative and designed a crossword puzzle of clues. Monday’s gift was a fancy nail file, Tuesday’s was a sleep mask. Today I’m giving a whole lotta cool stuff…Yankee Candle, assorted note pads/sticky notes/cheapie calendar. Merry Xmas, co-worker!
