So yesterday, Joe and Julie arrived around 11. We went to Circle Centre Mall and ate at Alcatraz Brewing Co. We had a great time and hit the 1/2 off sale at Yankee Candle and the Unsale at Lane Bryant, which was picked over, so there wasn’t much interesting. (I was disappointed — since I’ve put on weight I was really looking forward to trying LB). Then Julie and Joe tried their damnedest to get me to join the dark side at Costco, to no avail. We also hit the after-Xmas sale at Target. The Target near my parents has really improved, which is nice because the Entire Westside is a Big Ghetto. (But maybe I’m just a snob).
Then Brandy took over. We went liquor shopping and went to Max and Erma’s for dinner and rented Dodgeball, the Stepford Wives and Napoleon Dynamite to watch at Brandy’s. Dodgeball and Stepford were both very good but Napoleon D. wasn’t. It was slow and a downer and just not right for NYE. We had a few drinks and watched the big ball in NYC drop. There were also fireworks in Indianapolis, which I liked. Last year I didn’t even make it to midnight (WTF? I had to work that day!) so it was great to make it a little later. I did fall asleep before the end of Stepford Wives, which we watched the end of this morning.
And now I’m back at Mom’s. We’re going to visit Grandma and do some other fun things, but to do any of that I absolutely have got to get cleaned up and outta the house.
