Working on a chore list. Angela has sadly bit the dust so it’s all on my shoulders. (Oh, sure, I’ve told Gene he’s Lt. Cmdr. Toilet Scrubber, but I think I’ll end up with it). I’m trying to micro-list everything so if I dust the living room, I’ll have really completed several tasks (listing entertainment center, end table, etc separately). It’s all about feeling good about ourselves, right? (All that yuppie feel-good stuff is what Rush bitches about, anyway).
I got to take my maiden voyage in the new car today. I’ll try to take pictures tomorrow. It’s very spiffy. I finally have a key fob! (I feel like I finally joined the 21st century). And, since I’ve told car sales-weenies at every dealership about this, I’ll tell you too. The new car has no key, just a thingie you press in and turn away from you. How do you key other cars, then? This is going to put a real dent in my vandalism hobby. There is a valet key, but it just looks too thin to be terribly effectual. Gene recommends using my house key.
6 days until the Eagles concert. Weee!!! A friend of D’s got to see them yesterday on the first night of the tour. I’m very impressed and exceptionally jealous. “Best of My Love” just popped up on the Windows Media Player. I’m going to practice yelling “WOOOOO!” after the song ends.
Anyway, today: On the maiden voyage, we went to the Orvis store to order more pet beds. By the time these new ones are in, we will be up to FOUR from Orvis (one in front of the fireplace, one in Gene’s home office, one in Betty’s kennel and one in our bedroom, so the dogs can sleep in the bedroom if they’re good). Then we ate ourselves silly at Red Lobster and I had a good Carmel Apple Martini. (They call them Apple-tinis there, but it just seems childish and dorky).
Ooh, the song ended…
WOOOOOOOOOOOO (said in a quiet voice…I have two sleeping dogs)
