So today I get inspired to try cleaning my house. Ever since I received a raise back in March 2001, I’ve had a lady come in to clean the house. She came in twice a month and did all the necessities and the house never got dirty. It was a bargain and it kept me from having to do more around the house than the laundry, the dishes and the garbage. In short, it kept me from having to scrub my commodes (as my MIL calls them).
It appears I’ve been abandoned by the cleaning lady. I’m calling her tomorrow to find out what’s going on but in the meantime, I’ve been thinking about no longer using her services. Thus, the trip to Target this evening for cleaning supplies and the weeding out of cleaning supplies not accomplished by something disposable or a wipe of some sort.
Today’s product review: the Scotch Brite disposable commode scrubber thingie. (When Scotch Brite sues me, I am sure this will aid my case). The item was about $5 at Target (it seemed cheaper than the Clorox version) and included the wand and 4 commode scrubbers (enough to clean each of my 3 bathrooms once). The box promised that the scrubber would turn white when it was used up. The first step is to dip the thing in the toilet (there I said it) water. Hey, guess what??? Yeah! It turns light blue just by then. There was enough stuff in the scrubber to clean the bowl OK but probably not enough if you wanted to be really (Sorry) anal about it. I’m going to use the extra 2 scrubbers but then probably go and try a different product, maybe the Clorox kind.
