I’m here! Mom’s internet is broken so I’m using the computer up in Macaulay/Bill’s room. It used to be my room before I moved to Cheesecake City (and before that, to Muncie). After this blog post I’m going to call the Centers for Disease Control and have them come by with their decontainmination suits. Love ya, Bill, but this room is a cesspool.
Today’s plans: Lunch with Mom (just the two of us unless the grad-u-ate comes home soon), Aunt Lyn arrives. Sooner or later Dad will leave for work. We’re supposed to go out for steak tonight but all the steak places tend to have 2 hour waits, so I don’t know about that. At some point I need to head downtown and check into the Marriott and see if I can badger them into giving us a reservation for the buffet tomorrow. The graduation starts at 3, Bill needs to be there all suited up at 2, and the earliest reservation they can give us is 1, so I don’t think that’s going to work in any comfortable manner.
Hmm, just noticed Bill has a better monitor than I do. This is really getting ridiculous. Everyone – including my Dad – has a better monitor than I do. Gene just bought a new one, my company took away my flat screen monitor at work (fucking bastards). I am thinking of buying a laptop specifically so I can have a monitor I can pick up without a Triumph of the Will-sized effort. We all know how I don’t like effort.
All is well – yesterday’s flights weren’t bad, although Northwest pretended to lose my luggage so I had to wait around for them to find the other luggage cart somewhere on the tarmac. Ugh. The rental car is a Hyundai Sonata. They had me down for a Sporty 2 door but I asked for a regular sedan. Then, curious, I said, “What would a Sporty 2 door have been?”
The girl told me, “A new Mustang.”
Ugh! I lose!
Anyway, I’m here and loving it. I miss the husband and the dogs though.
