Yesterday I was at the point in my visit home that I look around and think, “I really should figure out a way to live here in Indiana.” It’s the time in my visit after I think that my family is made up of dorks but before the time in my visit when I think that I need to screw up my courage and get the hell out of here. I also miss Gene and the dogs.
Spent yesterday with Grandma then had dinner with Brandy. I’m glad I got to spend a lot of time with Grandma. She’s clocking in at 87 years old. She had one of my uncles buy her one of those motorized carts. It’s red. My uncle asked what number she wanted painted on the side – Mario (Andretti) or AJ (Foyt)? It’s nice to hear people talk about Indy car as opposed to all that NASCAR BS that’s so big in Cheesecake City. Ugh.
Anyway, party people, I think I’m supposed to leave in a few minutes.
Must:
1) Make sure everything is where it’s supposed to be in terms of luggage.
2) Put gas in rental car.
3) Return rental car.
4) Go to airport
5) Eat with Dad – since he works at the airport he can get in anytime he wants, even though today is his day off. There’s something special about being met at your gate, post 9/11.
6) Go home!
7) Hug husband.
8) Hug dogs.
I’ll touch down at home around 4:30. Back to work tomorrow.
