The best thing to put your money into is pajama pants. I have around 4 pairs of them (including a yellow pair of penguin Tommy Hilfigers, which are just too cute!) and they seriously are the best pants ever. Elastic, comfy, warm… love them. The clearance pair from Kohl’s that are 3 years old are just as wonderful as the Target pair with the kids from South Park. I normally am anti-elastic pants, but I make an exception for these pants.
Anyway. I’m sorry I haven’t written this week. Blanche has been here and I have tried to not take the time to blog. I’m still on the computer a lot, though… I hope she doesn’t think I’m ignoring her. I try to include her in everything.
Today started with an 8 AM visit from a medical person of some sort to ask me a few questions for my life insurance policy. And here’s some gross TMI…you don’t know fun until you’ve carried a cup of your own urine across your living room. After the nurse left and I Lysol’d my own hands, we had to leave to take Blanche to her class reunion. It was about an hour away. Gene drove, and as always it made me crazy. While she was at the reunion, we ate lunch and I went to the small town’s mall. All the major anchor stores (including Penneys and Sears, two anchors that aren’t at our new mall here) and about a dozen smaller stores. Walked away empty handed, Go me! (Let’s not even talk about the internet shopping spree, though…)
Got home around 3, relaxed, grocery shopped for tonight’s gourmet dinner of coney dogs. Realized I forgot the tin foil and had to go back to the grocery. Dinner was later than we planned but it was yummy. It’s sad, but baked coney dogs are the speciality of the house when I’m cooking! And the clean up is beyond easy… just throw away the aluminum foil and that’s basically it.
Blanche has had an absolute ball with the dogs while she’s been here. She feeds them and watches them when they go outside. She loves to give them treats. Gene told me the other night that if Scooby doesn’t hop in her lap she gets miffed. It’s too funny!!
I downloaded Kate Bush’s new single “King of the Mountain” from iTunes. It’s not as good as Hounds of Love or The Sensual World (where did my copy of that go?? Ugh, maybe I’ll just get it on iTunes, I miss that CD a lot) but I know in my Kate fan heart that the album will be better. I love, love LOVE what EW had to say – “Move over, Tori Amos-the real fairy queen is back to reclaim her throne.”
(We all know how I feel about Tori Amos, right?)
I think Blanche is leaving sometime Monday, so by Monday night I should be back to posting on a more regular schedule.
Goodnight!
