but every year I take a cursory, curious glance at the NCAA Tournament bracket to see who is listed, who isn’t, etc. My little brother’s alma mater Purdue didn’t make it, but I do see where Oral Roberts University did. They are low-seeded in their (hmmm) region (?) but still…ORAL ROBERTS University??? My own alma mater probably had a losing streak going, but no one expects much else from the college that they’d might as well just rename Safety School University (Motto: “When your parents threaten to bury you alive if you don’t get a degree!”).
I’m editing this post a few minutes after I originally published it. I am very impressed that a small (I assume) religious college (other than Notre Dame, which is, of course, not small) had a good enough season to get this far. I just grew up thinking that a certain college in W. Lafayette, INÂ was #1 and it’s annoying to be wrong.
