and I ain’t got nobody…(well, except the dogs). Gene’s off playing poker (read my earliest posts if you need a translation about what poker is…) and I’m home alone. My ambitious plans haven’t come to fruition yet so instead I’m going to post to my ‘blog while listening to music. (Currently playing: Don Henley’s “The Garden of Allah”…mmmm…Don Henley).
Today has not been especially busy. Gene got up and demanded the french toast I promised to make him…I can promise you that I didn’t promise to cook Gene anything more complex than…oh, a granola bar. So we went to Denny’s for breakfast, which is down the street from Petsmart. (That’s how we celebrated our first Saturday now that Dog School is over — by going to Petsmart. Oh, well). Then we went home and I vaccumed and swept the kitchen and living room. I went to Target hoping to find two simple things: 1) a soap dispenser for the kitchen and 2) a pitcher with the stirrer thing inside like our Pampered Chef pitcher. Target had no acceptable soap dispensers and no pitchers at all. WTF? I’m going to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond tomorrow instead. Or maybe Linens n’ Things if I was smart and saved the 20% coupon from the mail. I’d rather go to B, B and B because they have the sheets I like.
Here’s a good quote from Henley’s song: “Because there are no facts, there is no truth, only data to be manipulated. I can get you any results you like — what’s it worth to ya?”
Good news about the work situation for Gene — he will probably not be on the breadline after all. He’s going to have a new position at his company and he may just have his choice. I think I will have to guide him, as I have learned that the man has really questionable judgement skills. I’m so glad I bothered to tell anyone and get them all panicky (Jesus tapdancing Christ, someone scrape my mother off the ceiling…).
Okay, chores…nowwww….
