Because I make it a habit to do whatever Erin does (witness the Dyson and unspeakable acts of high school journalism), I finally to-did the item on my to-do list about finding a company to measure the half of our house that has no blinds, for blinds.
(Yes, I know.)
(September 2000.)
(Yeah, we actually had someone price it when we had the other half of the house done, but we needed all our spare change for furniture and Star Wars DVDs.)
So, she's coming over Thursday. Thursday is a BIG DAY:
1) Work all day
2) Secret Shopper assignment at lunch. More on that later. Or not. It's a secret.
3) Blind lady after work.
4) Dinner w/ Gene's D&D pal and his girlfriend after blind lady.
In our living room, we have two regular windows and one massive double window. Over the double window is a half-moon. The half moon is so beautiful to look at but it is a bitch to deal with the glare it puts on the TV half the day. So, it's going to get covered up in some sort of blind or shutter or something. Hopefully, it will look like this. (That's actually what the windows look like, but more squat and less Ernest Hemingway).
The rest of the house (dining room, two bathrooms, one random window and perhaps the kitchen) will get the same fake wood blinds as we already have. If we entertained much I'd love to do a half plantation shutter in the dining room and some sort of short curtain over the top.
Honestly, I hope Gene doesn't cheap out and lets me order more than just the half moon. We've had paper blinds up in the kitchen, dining room and two bathrooms since we moved in and that poor random window has been nekkid its entire sad life 🙁
