I love weekends.
Anyway — today was a total drag, which makes the weekend even more of a wonderful thing. I spent basically the entire day wrestling with a quarterly report. I’ve been behind on these reports all year and I thought that formulating this one would be easy-peasy. Our IT guy wrote a report for me that I should just plug in pay dates and BAM! it’s done.
Yeah, right! I’ve got the report that was submitted to the ESC and two reports (one based on the IT guy’s report and one based on…well, supposedly the same data) and I have THREE DIFFERENT FIGURES. VERY different figures — the closest I got them was something like $47,000 different. I told my boss and she told me we’ll look at it Monday. Do we really have to? This is the same report that, about a year into my time at the company, my boss handed to me and said “We haven’t done these in ages.” Back then, these reports took about an hour total. I know it’s mostly about the learning curve, but I am SICK OF LEARNING CURVES. Jesus tapdancing Christ, I have enough challenges without one of the tasks I was damn good at being made impossible so now I look even more incompetent. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR — I HAVE HAD ENOUGH.
