I am home!
I am tiiiired!
I had a great time on my Girls Weekend in Detroit. On Friday, we had dinner and watched Sixteen Candles and another movie that I have totally forgotten. Saturday, pedicures (yeeeee!!!) and IKEA. The pedicures were awesome. (For a 2 night trip I packed 3 pairs of sandals just to make sure I had the right shoes for after pedi, pre-IKEA. I am sure we all know that you can’t just throw your Nikes back on immediately afterwards. My rule of thumb is, no socks until the next day).
IKEA was very very interesting. I didn’t buy anything, but I did get to eat delicious IKEA food which was totally worth the trip. Mmm IKEA meatballs. Freaking delicious. And hysterically, they were giving free entrees for Mothers Day on Saturday, so Julie and I got our meatballs free. (Yes, neither of us are mothers to humans). I was stuffed right after eating, but it was one of those times where I would have been fine just sitting there, drinking water and getting up once in awhile to buy more meatballs to eat. I had also eaten the best dessert ever. (I am not making this up but I just remembered that D makes a delicious chocolate chip cookie, so the two items are in a tie).
Basically, IKEA made me appreciate my house. Our house is seven years old with all the modern ammenities in newly built houses. It has absolutely no soul, but plenty of storage space. Cheesecake City is getting an IKEA in the next few years. Too late for Plan B’s nursery, but it’s never too late for meatballs.
Saturday night, we watched…hmm, a movie of some sort…and played Trivial Pursuit, one of the DVD editions. Julie won (yea Julie!). I couldn’t answer the sports questions to save my life. I think perhaps the Trivial Pursuit people should develop a Pinch Hitter rule. (That’s when you’d let someone else answer the question, right?)
Today, brunch and the airport. And now I am home. I love travelling, hanging out in airports, people watching, tapping away on the laptop. It’s sick but I even am totally cool with going through security.
At my house on Saturday, I watched a hockey game. 🙂
