(because if I was a paid writer maybe I’d be in the WGA and then I’d have to be on strike).
So far, the writer’s strike hasn’t affected me much with two exceptions. And oh, how I miss them both. Due to the topicality of their…err…topics and the daily production of both shows, they were the first to go. Wahh.
On the bright side, my PVR is full of movies I’ve Tivo’d from TCM and other exciting movie channels. I watched the 1935 version of Anna Karenina starring Greta Garbo. I enjoyed it but I feel that there has to be a more complete telling of the story out there, possibly not filmed 70 years ago under a far more strict moral code.
Today I tried to watch the original version of Diabolique but I’m just not up to subtitles. Maybe tomorrow.
