Still a slacker!

Posted on October 28, 2004 by laineyd

Well, I had an email back from the temp agency re: the position I mentioned yesterday. It’s taken…darnit. It was taken pretty quickly, I bet. The lady from the agency seemed to have a ‘tude….her email said “The position is taken. It was an immediate need” (yes, she used the italics). Better luck next time!!

Elaine is such a slacker…

Sorry I didn’t update yesterday! Lazy/busy. Good news! I got an email about a position as a “Leave Administrator” for a company here in town. It’s a temp to hire position where the pay maxes out at 30k (which is what I make now, before the pay cut). I emailed back as soon as I…

Patriotic Chore — Check!

The state I live in allows for early voting, so after work today Gene and I went to the library (he visits exactly every 4 years) to vote. Glad that’s over with! I did not repeat the mistake I made last time and voted for Kerry. Onto more pressing topics. Have you seen the Ashlee…

To Ponder…

1) Something I don’t get: the band Coldplay. WTF? Their song “Clocks” was on the radio when I was driving back from picking up linner (Wendy’s…blehh!) and I just totally do not understand them at all. I have heard them compared to the Beatles and maybe U2 and I just. don’t. get. it. Is it…

How did it happen AGAIN?? It’s Sunday morning and that makes tomorrow MONDAY morning. I just can’t do it. I just absolutely cannot get up tomorrow and go into work again. We have to leave in a half hour to take the boy back home. Usually we meet my mother in law between here and where she…

The week is over! Are you doing a little dance, glad for the weekend? I sure as hell am! Nothing new with the job search and Scooby seems fine. They both were checked out of Puppy Day Camp and appear unscathed. Scoob’s nails were even trimmed. I think the secret to them being OK is…

No Gnus is Good Gnus…

Posted on October 21, 2004 by laineyd

(That is, No Guh-news is good Guh-news). Anyway, on my way home from work I stopped in the vet’s office and picked up the medicine for Scooby. Dr. Peterson told me yesterday that Scooby would have to eat every bite of his meals to make sure he finishes the medicine. (hahahahahaha). Today I got lucky…

The latest in Scooby news…

Posted on October 20, 2004 by laineyd

As I mentioned yesterday, Scoobert (did you know that’s Scooby Doo’s real first name?) went to the vet’s for some blood work. Dr. Peterson called back just now — good news! It’s not liver, kidney or GI problems. Bad news! It could be a parasite. I’m going to pick up some medicine tomorrow that we…

Scooby Update!

Posted on October 19, 2004 by laineyd

Gene took Scooby to the vet today. They’re doing some blood work and will call Gene tomorrow about the results. According to the notes, he eats the grass due to nausea (duh) but the dirt could be anything. They may recommend he go on a special diet (who wants to bet me it’s the special…

Progress!

Posted on October 18, 2004 by laineyd

In the Great American Job Hunt…yesterday I emailed 5 resumes. Today I faxed 2. No progress on the going in and filling out an application…still too chicken for it. I also managed to lose a contact lens this morning. Hooray. In other exciting news…Scooby has been eating mud pies outside and puked something that looked…
